But I didn’t have anything (italics defaults to using <em> tags that split the italicized words onto a different line. Why, I have no idea so to get italics to work, you’ll have to specifically add <i> tags.) to do with the first post. Figures, no matter where I go on the internet, it seems someone always beats me to the first post. And it’s my own blog too.I’m not a big fan of this theme but I’m using it because I wanted to see how easy it was to download and use a new theme. Apparently pretty easy. There is a nice template that I would like to use, or wrap around wordpress, but I’ll have to do it myself. Hopefully it won’t be too difficult.
Ok, figured out how to embedded YouTube videos. Next challenge. -_- (Note: Don’t put any text after the video because Wordpress can’t handle it. Maybe I should start looking for a new blogging type system.)
Update: It isn’t putting text at the end. It’s how wordpress deals with the <object><embed> crap from youtube. When you first publish it (you copy and paste the embedded stuff in the CODE tab of the editor) it looks great. But if you go back to edit it (even if you don’t edit a thing, just the act of loading it back from the database does it) and click save, the formatting gets screwed up. So it’s a issue with wordpress screwing up.
I found a video on YouTube that explains the problem. Oh wait, why don’t I just link to it.
Yea, so the problem is WordPress all the way. Now I just need to figure out if there’s a way to use the advanced text editor all the time. It’ll be a pain in the ass to switch, or to remember to switch when I have to come back and edit something.
